Our board members are dedicated leaders committed to advancing the mission of Unalakleet Native Corporation. Each brings a wealth of experience and a unique perspective to guide our community towards a prosperous future.

Steve Ivanoff

President

Steve currently serves as President of the UNC Board and is a member of both the Finance and Land Committees. He works as a Transportation Planner for Kawerak, Inc. and is also a self-employed commercial fisherman in Norton Sound. Steve has served as the Recreation Director for BSSD for over 35 years. He has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Alaska Federation of Natives since 1977, the Bering Straits Native Corporation since 1998, and has served as Chairman of the Bering Sea Fisherman’s Association since 1985.

Ella Anagick

Ella has served as a Director for UNC since 2000. She is a member of the 8(a), Finance, and Personnel Committees, and serves as an alternate on the Homesite Committee. Ella is a self-employed attorney with over 30 years of experience in criminal and civil law through her practice, the Law Office of Ella Anagick. Her accomplishments include serving as an attorney on the Governor’s Advisory Board on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, participating in Anchorage Bridge Builders, and serving on the National Board for the Indian Child Welfare Act.

Paul, also known as "Bebucks," currently serves as the Director of Community Benefits at NSEDC. His past experience includes working as crew for West Coast Aviation, serving as a counselor at Iḷisaġvik College, and working as a planner, case manager, and workforce development specialist for Kawerak. He is also a member of the NSEDC Scholarship Committee and serves as an at-large member of the Education, Employment, and Training Committee.

Anne L. Woods

Director

Anne currently serves on the Personnel and Homesite Committees. She has demonstrated strong commitment with 100% attendance at board meetings and 95% attendance at committee meetings. Anne is employed as an Information Technology Specialist for the Bering Straits School District. Her previous roles include Archivist, Vocational Education and Curriculum (Testing) Secretary from 1995 to 2010 with BSSD. She has also served as Vice President and President of the Sewing Circle (1999–2010), on the Covenant Church Board (2007–2009), as Secretary/Clerk for BSSD, and as Secretary for the Unalakleet Native Corporation.

Frances Degnan

Frances currently serves on the Homesite and Land Committees and is a member of the Executive Committee. She is a self-employed writer, publisher, and bookseller. Her book, Under the Arctic Sun: The Life and Times of Frank and Ada Degnan, tells the story of her parents and highlights the culture of Alaskan Natives.

Charles O. Degnan

Charles currently serves on the Audit/Policy and Personnel Committees and is an alternate member of the Finance Committee. In 2017, he maintained 100% attendance at both board and committee meetings. He is a self-employed commercial fisherman. Charles has also served as a board member for the Native Village of Unalakleet and the Bering Straits School District. Additionally, he is the Director of the Bering Straits Coastal Management Program and the Bering Straits Native Corporation.

Harry Johnson Jr

Director

Harry Johnson Jr. is currently retired. He served as the DOT/PF Airport Manager from 1986 to 2014 and has worked as a heavy equipment mechanic and commercial fisherman/crabber since 1979. He currently serves on the 8(a), Policy & Procedures, and Finance Committees. Harry attended 100% of board and committee meetings and served on the City Council from 2007 to 2015.

Kerilee Ivanoff

Kerilee is the Community Development Coordinator with NSEDC and has been a member of the Native Village of Unalakleet Council since 2015. She served on the Beluga Committee and previously worked as a Health Aide for Norton Sound Health Corporation from 2002 to 2005, as well as in Environmental Cleanup for NVU from 2010 to 2012.

Jolene Nanouk

Jolene served as Board Secretary 2012/13 and on the UNC board from 1999-2015. He also served on the Homesite and Chair the Audit/Policy Review Committees alternate for Land Committee. Jolene’s occupation is, an Bilingual/Bicultural Teacher for the Unalakleet Secretary, 2014-15. She also was a grant writer for Native Village of Unalakleet from January to June 2013.
